Lemon and honey in hot water works better than tea. If your voice gets tired quickly it could be that you are not using the correct muscles for breathing, this will "wear out" your voice faster. Try some diaphragmic breathing exercises (crunches help too) to strengthen your breathing and core. Also, never, ever drink alcohol or sugary drinks when you are singing (even though whats the point of going out and singing Karaoke without drinking!) but sugar tightens the vocal cords and alcohol relaxes the vocal cords and can cause you to do damage. Happy singing!

The best thing is to warm up your voice. There are several methods, but runing scales or arpeggios from low to high chromatically will do the trick. Save the tea and lemon for after you sing. Drink water.
