not accurate.

joiining the guard or any other quasi military is total legit way to
avoid going direclty to miltiary.

There is nothing wrong with how Bush served.

Unlike Kerry who is a proven coward.
Btw 2 of the 3 medals were bogusly obtained.
Even his own commanders agreed on that.

Unlike the many who fled to Canada or those
who went to North VIetnam to protest..
Btw, going to the enemy to protest war is never the right thing to do (Jane Fonda) and used to be illegal and treason before WWII.

Ie; it was treason before then, to be on any foreign soil, as a citizen of USA and protest policy.
