I think the rest of the U.K. is Scotlands guinea pig, seeing as the Labour front bench seems to be composed of Scots!

Or perhaps the U.K. is America's guinea poodle.

No. Within the UK we're now leading the way. The Poll Tax was something Thatcher imposed on us. We (a Scottish Parliament) brought in the no smoking law and, as a smoker I don't see a problem. We also gave our pensioners free travel on public transport and scrapped tuition fees for our students which certainly isn't happening in England.

Ah, now hang on.

You assume London has direct control over Scotland. Im English, so im coming to the defence of my country here when i say it was YOUR parliament that bought in the smoking ban, not ours.
We, meaning London. control the things that affect us all. Foreign policy, Defense, Energy etc. The Scottish Parliament controls all domestic policy, bar Tax Raising, so any social reform is the fault of your Assembly.

Please, don't blame us. You voted for the Socialists and Nationalists, you've gotta stop blaming us south of the border for your problems

Well no Ireland is also under the new smoking regulations and believe me it sucks but you will eventually get used to it.
