The greatest entertainer ever, and everybody else pales in significance. I personally feel that Queen should have stopped being, rather than get another singer to replace him. He is irreplaceable.

hi. i was bought up with listening to Queen. My mom was/is an avid fan. So every time there was anything to do with Queen/Freddie Mercury on the radio, or TV it would go up full blast, or i would ring my mom to tell her whatever was on and where! at the time, i wasn't really 'into' him, but as the time has gone on, in my opinion, yeah, he was quite a show!! Unfortunately, it didn't go on!
But, hey, nevermind, 'Those Were The Days Of Our Lives', where i now 'See What A Fool I've Been', and it all went in a 'Flash'!!

I agree, the papers love to put oasis up there with the beatles stating them as the best bands ever producted in Britain. Rubbish - Queen was total art. Their stuff had never been done before. Glam Rock/ opera - totally unforgettable and timeless. They are still on the radio/tv/ads daily. We never tire of their music. Mercury WAS Queen and I doubt he'll ever be forgotten.

Loved him as an entertainer, but his colourful past, unfortunately caught up with him, although, 5 or 6 years before he died, he was in a monogamous loving relationship, and I am pleased for him for that. It was a shame he died when he did. Queen were one of the best bands ever, and I wish I had been old enough to see them in concert in 86'

As Tina Turner would say, ' Simply the best'.
He was a fantastic showman, and long may his legacy live on.

I like a lot of Queen's music. Freddie Mercury was probably one of the best front men of any hard rock band. Sadly I've never seen any of their concerts though.

You took the words out of my mouth! There will never be another Freddie Mercury. They broke the mould when he was born. He's a legend in his own right.
