He wants a flying V and red and blue are his favorite colors. I wish it had a headphone attachment, or does it?!

7 years old huh. Does he want a flying V guitar or does he want to learn how to play a guitar. That's a big question when dealing with young people. Seven is a young age but I've seen kids at that age learn to play really well. Question, does he have a guitar now? Has he ever tried one? Where did he hear about the flying V? If he just saw one being played and now wants it, I'd be wary of spending the money. At the same time you don't want to discourage him.
My nephew has a 3/4 size Squire and he plays rather well. He was 9 when I started him playing. But I had a guitar he could try and I bought him a $90 3/4 sized acoustic to start. The Guitar you're looking at is a good unit and yes, you can plug in head phones. If he really wants to learn how to play, and you can afford it, go get the VeeWee. He'll love it.

A Seven year old boy will love any electric guitar he is given. About the Head phone thing most amps have a spot for head phones but you will need an adapter to make it fit a regular 3.5mm head phone jack.

I prefer the Epoch LP guitar you find at Target for a beginner, It looks and feels like a real Gibson Les Paul because it is made buy Gibson. it costs about $149.99

You will still need to buy an Amp though.
