What message were they trying to send with the Path to 9-11?
My opinion is that it was meant to put more teeth into the war on terror by showing how these "pesky little laws" which we have on the books, that protects our privacy is a hinderance to the government in their war on terror.
Here's a story (link) that serves as an example of the kind of privacy we have that the government seems intent on stripping away.
Was this the point of the movie, to soften us up for our acceptance of the next phase of the Patriot Act?

I couldn't agree more with your assessment. The people will always get screwed because our government doesn't have the vision or leadership abilities that it will take to win this "war on terror". The easiest way for the government to obtain information (since they have no intelligence of their own) is to strip our constitutional rights and to treat everyone as if they were a terrorist. In the mind set of the Bush administration...you are guilty until proven innocent!

The message is that our leaders have not been taking care of us for a long time. There were people who knew what was going on- but they were not listened to- John O'Neil in the FBI, Richard Clark, security advisor on terrorism, and that other guy who was in close contact with Massoud. Too much politics from the higher-ups, not enough leadership. No cooperation between the bureaus. I like how this administration tries to talk tough, like things are being handled now. Things could have been much different with some early decisiveness and lack of arrogance on their part. As far as your concern about your personal privacy being taken away- if you have nothing to hide, why are you worried? Our intelligence agencies need to be able to check out suspicious people during wartime- which we are in.
One more thing- few people answering this question even SAW the show, and until they become more informed- read, become involved- this country is in big trouble. We need to unite, and make sure those jokers are taking care of business in Washington.

i think the message was the laws are good and worked great for years but due to them 9/11 happened , we are facing a new enemy that needs to be stopped . why would you give a dam about the patriot act if it would stop things like 9/11 , any normal law abiding citizen is for the act or crazy . there is not one good argument against it , and no " they are stripping away our privacy" is definately not an argument

It was to show that if we don't pay attention to those people like Osama and get him when it is possible, we are doomed to have 9/11 repeated--or worse. But of course you people think otherwise. Gosh, arabameridannews...I wonder what they will think of it? I guess they're mad because they are profiled as suspected terrorists more than they'd like. I guess that the price they pay for having danced in the streets of Deerborn when their relatives murdered 2,973 who's only crime was to have gone to work that day.

It seemed that they wanted to show Clinton as to blame for a lot of things.

The makers of the film are affiliated with an organization called Youth With A Mission, who want to clear Hollywood of all Liberal influence. You can read more on the Huffington Post.

No message whatsoever, they were just looking for ratings. The network used the date and the controversial show to get better ratings.

As to the tightening of laws, the truth is that most of America wants these laws, that is why the Republican party has been elected, twice I might add. The country wants conservatism.

That if you use jiggly hand held cameras, lots of quick cuts, and bad dialogue, people will think they are watching 24 and stay tuned in hoping for a glimpse of Jack Bauer.

It's purpose is to continue the cover-up that our own government was responsible for the "demolition" of the World Trade Center.

The Patriot Act is the new Constitution, nulifying many of it's justices we have taken for granted all these years.

In that, China is now the worlds super-power, thanks to our jobs and billions of dollars we will continue to give to it.

Bye bye America!
