How did you know you had married the right person. The one God wanted for you.

That was a big deal for me.
I prayed for as long as it took and in order to be ready for the answer, I had to humble myself to accept whatever He told me.
When He answered, it was with a warm assurance that what I hoped was really true. There was no more confusion, and whenever I thought about my fiancee I was filled with positive feelings and hope for the future. Look up the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians.

The best way to know you have the best marriage partner is by their sheer sexual prowess. Either the chemistry and the skill is there or it isn't. Unfortunately, this can be hard for most Christians to determine until after they are married and it is too late. Think carefully. Chose wisely. A bad marriage ending in divorce is worse than not having married at all, or than not having tested your partner sufficiently before finalizing the relationship.

Pray about it. Get a list in your head of what you are looking for in a partner, not just physical characteristics, but what kind of morals will they have, what religion or denomination will they be, etc.

I had a list in my head of what I believed God would want me to find in a partner. I only dated people that fit that list. And I had a peace about it when I found the right one. We've been married almost 12 years now.

This is how my pastor put it.

God knows everything about you. He knows your future, your past, he knew you before you were concieved. God knows all.

God already knows if you are going to marry this partner. He may or may not tell you what's what, but he knows. If God allowed this person in your life, then he's giving you the opportunity to make this choice.

A good thing to keep in mind is to marry someone who shares the same basic beliefs as you. If your partner isn't religious, you can't force it on them. That's not fair. God does believe in sticking with religion, but if they are willing to try yours, remember God approves of new religious followers.

Point is, you won't know for sure, but God won't allow you to do it if it's doomed to fail. Just believe.

If you believe that God gave you free will for a reason you must believe that he/she does not choose your mate. To question your choice of spouse as to God's will misses the point that you are intended to live in righteousness and stay married that way.
God does not want a person for you.

Actually, according to God and Nature, you aren't supposed to ever get married or fall in love. That was created by the civilizations before us.

You have to get to know your prospective spouse by dating for a period of time. Time reveals all. They may say they are Christian, but after being with them for a while, you find by their actions that they are not. If they are Christian, they will have very good Christian morals. Study God's word and you will know what to look for in a man. Ask your pastor what passages you can read in the Bible that references what a man is supposed to be in the family and in marriage.

That is magical thinking. God would rather that you take time to learn how to make an intelligent choice for yourself, instead of being supersitious and lazy (I say lazy because many Christians today are so engrossed in watching their favorite TV show, instead of taking time to learn how to live a more productive life).

Read the book called "Are You The One For Me?" by Barbra DeAngelis. It will teach you how to know and assess long-term compatibility.

Get in touch with Bush, he talks to God, ask him to ask God he can tell you all about it. God told told him he wanted him to be President and look what we got. I believe I would just use my own heart.

LOL. I don't believe in "GOD". If you are religious, you should know that he gives you what you need and only puts you through what you can handle. You will not know who you are supposed to be with etc., it is all a learning experience and a test of faith.
