You can do an on-line degree on Voluntary Sector Studies with Univesity of Lampeter, Wales http://www.volstudy.ac.uk/

Also many Universities do Distance Learning Degrees now, just look on website of universities and look for distance learning, and of course the oldest of the lot (not strictly on-line) the Open University

In addtion there are good Universities in Australia and other countries that do on-line/distance learning degrees (always check the Universites credentials).

most will let you pay in instalments

That is if you want a proper degree, and not an off the peg, means nothing piece of paper

I work at a University, and I know there are a few places that offer these sort of degrees - some are a waste of time, some are from legitamite Universities.

You are most likely thinking of the Open University, but most Universities offer distance learning courses these days - phone your local Uni and ask about courses and requirements.

However, before starting one of these, you need to ask - do you have the time to give? It requires a lot of time and dedication to do an "at home" or distance learning degree. Can you afford the course fees? Do you know what you want to study? Are you really, really sure this is what you want to do? if yes, then good luck!

If you want any further clarification, don't hesitate to get in touch - like i said, I work at a University, so know quite a bit about how they work.
