The State charges money for a State ID or Driver's License. At least $25 in Ohio. It's essentially a poll tax.

I am a poll worker in our township. When a person comes in to vote, we ask them to fill out an application to vote. This has their name, address, birth date, and signature on it. That form is then presented to a poll worker who compares the information on the application to the information we have on our QVF (Qualified Voter File). If all information matches than the voter proceeds to another worker who gives instruction and the ballot. An ID is not required in the process unless there is a discrepancy in the application and the QVF or the voter's name is not found in the QVF. All states have their own voter regulations and that is how we do it in Michigan. As far as I know there is nothing wrong with showing a valid ID when voting, however, it is not usually necessary or required.

no longer something in any respect -- as long as those "valid identity's" are particularly available. difficulty is that during numerous what has been proposed so far, there has been no longer something proposed to guarantee that the identity is accessible for each individual. The outrage is that, interior the previous, numerous the Republican schedule has been to disenfranchise minorities and the undesirable. From the polltaxes and polltests of the 1920s and 1930s (that have been, BTW a fabricated from the Democratic celebration interior the south that change to the Republican celebration for the time of the Civil Rights flow) to the purging of voter registration with Latino and ethnic sounding names in Florida interior the 1890s and the attack on ACORN in this century, the Republican celebration has been a champion of voter suppression. If there grew to become into any reason to think of that they've replaced, i could help them. There hasn't been.

Why are you even asking this question? Is there a problem somewhere? I live in one of the most civil-liberties conscious areas of the country and we show ID for elections all the time - no big deal.

That would prevent the dead from voting, illegals from voting, and people voting for others..

DNC will never approve of stopping that.
