Am I the only one, or do you feel sad that a 20-year-old had to die so suddenly? It's not like I knew the son of Anna Nicole Smith, but I still wonder what his last moments would have been like.

I had a 20-year-old acquaintance die suddenly like that. I was new to college at the time, and he introduced himself to me as a former room mate of my brother's. He had finished his finals only a few days ago and was waiting for the results. I still remember his gelled-up wavy hair, his wide-open eyes and brisk tread. And when I think of all that, it's as if he's still alive 'cos I can't believe that such a lively and real person as him could be 6 feet under the ground. Somehow, his death just doesn't seem right to me!

To the person who said age shouldn't matter when a person dies..it is equally sad. You haven't lived enough to know that.
I was with my 95 yr old xmotherinlaw when she passed. It was sad, but she had lived a full life.
My son died 4 years ago of a unexpected heart attack..He appeared to be well, but had vomiting episodes. He was only 21 years old..now tell me that - that loss is equal to a 95 yr olds life???

Often when young people die of a heart attach drug/or drinking issues- use present or past. is a factor. The heart muscle or and kidneys get damaged and their heart eventually gives out. When the kidneys get damaged even a young person who is slim and appears healthy has high blood pressure & a heart attack can happen.

I am heart sick for anyone who loses a child. What an ironic thing that Anna gave birth to a new life and lost the life of her son who meant the world to her. My heart aches for all involved.

It doesn't seem right and the grief is huge.

I imagine that seeing the hospital staff work on trying to resisitat he son was and will continue to be a nightmare. No amount of fame or money will ever replace her son.

Some people say it easy like..well it was their time to go. Or they are in a better place. Those sayings might be true but the cut like a knife in the heart of a mother who grew that child within her and watched him mature in to a young man- just to see his life cut short is such a great loss that there arn't words that can tell how deep the pain is.

God Bless all those who have lost those so very young......

An autopsy was performed Monday. On Tuesday, Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill said that based on preliminary findings, "the cause of death is not natural." But, she said, "we wish to reserve [announcing] the cause of death at this time," adding that a toxicology results and a full autopsy report will be released by the end of the week.

Virgill said an inquest will take place afterward and her staff will interview all "relevant witnesses," including Anna Nicole Smith, hospital workers and flight attendants, to develop an official timeline.

The coroner's statements came in the wake of a story in the Nassau Guardian that Daniel Smith suffered a "massive heart attack" and that antidepressants had been found in his system. The newspaper said that Daniel was seen "vomiting uncontrollably" shortly before his death.

Police on Tuesday sought to downplay the Guardian report.

Yes, very very sad. However, she fought so hard to get those millions of dollars that was not rightfully hers. To marry an 89 year old man and have him pass away a year later and try to suck the family dry. Ironically, today I'm sure no amount of money could replace her son she lost.

I think its sad. He died in the chair next to his moms bedside while waiting to see his baby sister. She thought he was asleep and when she tried to wake him, realized he was dead. Thats some SAD business, regardless of who the mom is/was! She may be a loopty-doo freak but still....

It should never matter how young or old someone is. Death should always be equally sad.
