I have a 99 ford windstar with 45000 miles. I've been told the CVC? joint is probably bad as it knocks once in a while when I turn or sometimes even when I'm going straight, like over rough rr tracks. But now it's also making another sound. It's really noticable between 55 and 60 mph. It sounds like something is rubbing on the front passenger tire. My dad drove it and thought it was road noise, but he rotated the tires and that didn't help and now it seems to be getting worse. Would this have anything to do with the CVC joint? Any ideas on what it could be? Or any guess as to how much to fix it?? THanks!

If the CV joint is bad then it could all be related.
Unfortunatly CV joint are fairly expensive and a high labor time repair.
Try checking the wheels after a 10 mile or so journey for temp.
Place your hand near the front 2 wheels when you stop and see if one seems considerably hotter than the other. Ford are known for having a brake that'll stick.

most likely the cv joints are shot
cost depends on who you take it to to get it fixed dealership might be best option
as far as the rubbing goes have them look at the rotors i had an instance of the bolt shaking loose and grinding the inside of the rotor down and it made a rubbing noise as it was doing it or a flap guard could be loose and rubbing the tire
