I agree with the first poster, YES the other warning was intended for all employees.
This is why we learn BASIC MATH in school!! This was a pretty silly mistake to make when so much is on the line. You lost your job and got a $200 fine. Your employer could have had his business SHUT DOWN. So consider your punishment minor compared to what you could have caused by POOR MATH SKILLS

Sounds like favoritism to me if one person can just get a warning and the other person gets fired for the exact same thing. I've seen it before. Been a victim of it before. All you can do is find another job and wait for karma to get them.

Depending on the state, an employer can fire you for any reason. However, you may have a discrimination suit against the employer. You should consult a lawyer.

The warning may have been for every one. Also, if your overall general attitude is displeasing to your boss he/she just needed a good reason to fire you! Sorry!

Yes, most positions are "at will employment" meaning you have the right to leave at any time, and they have the right to fire you at any time.

They can fire you for anything they want that is not protected under law. So, put your apron on, and go get another job.

unless you can show you were fired because of age, sex, race, or disability, you dont have a case. In most states, you can be fired for anything.
