I'm 16 wks prenant and up until a month ago everything was great! All of the sudden I cry over every little thing, I feel totally alone, and some days I don't even want to get out of bed. I'm suspicious of everything my husband does, my daughter drives me up the wall and most days I can't even eat! I feel like I'm going CRAZY!!! Is this just my hormones or am I really losing my mind? Has anyone ever heard of pregnancy related depression?

If you are going to be mean, please just skip this one ok. I feel crappy enough! Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately this is probably what it's going to be like throughout your pregnancy, hormones can make a woman act crazy...There is such a thing as pregnancy induced depression...you may want to consult your doctor and analyze the risk of doing anything about it (ie mood stabilizers/anti-depressents) some exercise could also help you out and reduce some stress, pregnancy is suppose to be the most wonderful thing in life...too bad hormones make you feel like it's the worst thing... I hope things get better for you and hopefully you can enjoy your pregnancy!

Nope its part of being pregnant. I got the same way true story I would watch the price is right every single day and I would cry when someone won a car!! LOL sounds gay right but its the truth!!! You arnt losing your mind at all ... your hormones are just going crazy!! Just try to relax ... Take a warm bath and just relax. Or even go out for a nice walk!! Everything will be perfectly fine ... just give it time!!!

My wife goes through pregnancy-related depression. It comes on in waves. Though I don't know if it's completely normal, at least you're not the only one.

Feeling crappy in all the above described ways is normal, too. My mom slept almost the entire term on all of her pregnancies (7 kids) and and heightened emotions like you experienced during puberty, or worse, are standard issue.

Best of luck. Talk to your doc about St. John's Wort and your diet. What you eat can make a HUGE difference.

Don't worry it is apparently very normal. In about a month, when your 20 weeks along you should start to feel a lot better as the hormones settle. In the mean time, chin up and remember ...this too will pass-take care and wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy

I've read some news articles aobut how they are now finding out depression during pregnancy is actually very common. If it's been a month though you should really go to the dr and talk to them about it. THey might be able to suggest something or give you something for it.

I hope you feel better :(

Oh, you poor thing. I felt that way too and basically just had to suffer through. However, my sister-in-law had an extremely stressful multiple pregnancy and they did give her some medication for it. I urge you to talk to your doctor and if the response doesn't make you feel any better - see another doctor. You should also try to schedule some alone time with your girlfriends - no kids - and really splurge on yourself.

What you are going through is completely normal for some pregnant women. What you are feeling sounds like post pardom depression and it in some way effects all pregnancies. don't worry for now, but if it continues long after you give birth, see a doctor

Oh, Sweetie. You are ok. Hang in there. It is hormonal. If you really get concerned or have problems coping, please call your OB/GYN. They can suggest something. I am sorry that you are going through such a hard time but I remember having some days like that when I was pregnant, too.

hey i can totally relate to you. during my first trimester all i ever did was sleep, i didn't feel like doing anything. little did i know, i was pregnant. i found out i was pregnant at the beginning of the 3rd month.
my second and third trimester, all i ever did was cry. i was so sensitive and at least once a night i would cry like a freakin baby.

yeah, i was suspicious of everything about my b/f at the time during my first trimester and then, i just had to learn to trust and forgive. but it was really hard. and it gets better during the last month of being pregnant.
