It entirely depends on the breed of horse, horses are over 14.3hh (below this is a pony) and the size goes up in hands and inches, and once it gets to 3 inches it jumps up a hand, (for instance 14.3hh then 15hh, 15.1hh,15.2hh,15.3hh,16hh) Most mares will give birth to one foal at a time, on the occasion a mare conceives twins they will rarely be carried full term, and more often than not she will re-absorb the foetus, the gestation period for a horse is just under a year, but mostly they go over their due dates. then by the time the foal has been weaned, the mare needs a break. so basically you're looking at a foal every 2 to 3 years, so in the average life of a mare she could by rights give birth to 8 or 9 (20 is unhealthy) foals (possibly more) that's based on the horse having her first at 3years old and living till a good age...

thought this may be of interest-
smallest living horse is Thumbelina a falabella horse(not to be mistaken for a pony, these guys are horses only miniature) she's only 17 1/2 inches high...
The World's Largest Horse ever recorded was a Shire gelding named Samson, he was 21.2 1/2hh, but the largest one today is a horse called Goliath who is only 19hh. Hope this helps a bit.
ttfn take care

depending on the breeding you can get a horse as big as 18-20 hands if not taller - I once had a clydesdale that was 18.2hh. There really is no set limit on height - but you would find it very unusual to find very many horses over say 19hh high.
Foals - depending on young you start breeding a mare, they could have any number up to around 10 foals. Again there is no correct answer to your question - just estimations.

k, first of all SPECIFY A TYPE OF HORSE!!! this affects both questions!
Falabellas can be around like 26inches and we have a Grand Prix dressage horse who's like 18.1(big guy). I ride a 14.2HH Arab mare... And that's not even getting into the drafts!
So obviously it varies. Horses are measured in hands high(HH). one hand is 4 inches.
horses can have different amounts of foals depends on the horse, breed, size, and obviously gender. Stallions can sire up to 40 foals in a year, but mares should only be bred every other or every two or three years.
This means that if a mare starts breeding at age 7, and retires at 20, she will have 5-6 foals.
If a stallion starts breeding at age 7 and retires at 20, he will have sired 520 foals(this obviously isn't completely accurate. i don't breed horses so i'm not sure on #s etc... it's most likely a lot less...)

it depends on the horse, breed, age, etc. all horses to be horses have to be at least 14.2 hands, but they can grow up to 18 hands which is really tall especially for a horse, i guess a normal size would be between 15-16 hands. but there isn't really a height that a full grown horse is all horses are different and they can have many offspring if the mare is used only as a breeding mare then she could have 5+ babies.

A horse can grow to to 17hh depending on what breed tey are. They will usuallly grow to their maximum height at maturity which can, again, be dependent upon their breed.

Mares can produce offspring from the age of 2 upwards (although some people believe to leave it until they are older and more mature). If a horse breeds well and takes every years there is no real reason why she cant produce youngstock every year of its life. So potentially if a mare gets to the age of 30 and is still healthy and sound and has ben bred from since the age of 4 she will have produces 26 foals.

i know many broodmares in their late 20s and thrities who still carry a foal each year!

A hand is four inches. Horses are measured in hands.
Ponies are 14.2 (14 hands 2" ) and under, horses are over 14.2 hands. Horses reach a certain size when fully grown. Thel argest breeds are up to 18 hands. Average size is between 15.2 and 16.2 hands.
Horses usually have 1 foal at a time and can bear once per year. Twins are very rare.

Normally the average is 15 to 16 hands. Now some are smaller and average 14. If it a horse and not a pony, 15 is the average. As far as the # of young, they deliver one at a time, sometimes twins. Through a lifetime, that just depends on how many times the mare is exposed to a firtile stud and the pregnancy takes.

It depends on what breed of horse you have. Miatures can be anywhere from 3-4 feet tall. Ponies no taller than 14.2 hands( a hand is equal to 4 inches). Horses 14.3-18 hands tall. The average for a paint or Quarter horse is 15.1-15.3 hands. A mare can live to be thirty or better and if well-cared for can be bred from age three on. So one horse can have over a dozen foals.

Depends on the breed.

A horse can grow least of 5 hands (pony/miniture horse) up to 19 hands (draft breeds).

A Mare can adverage have 5 to 8 foals in her life time. Depending on her health and each foaling rate.

If a mare has twins, it is most recommended to "pinch" (abort) one of the developing fetus due to high risk of loosing both the foals and the mare during labor. It is still rare to have twins with both surviving along with the mare.

height depends on the mum and dad. and wether it is a pony or horse. ponys are smaller than horses. they normally stop growing between the age of 4 and 6

a horse can only have one foal at a time, twins are rare, and both rarely survive. The horse is preganant for 11 months. they can become pregnant almost straight after the foal is born.
