I think the virus is preventing the system from accepting any anti virus installation. I have purchased the 2006 version of Norton anti virus. but the drive will just not read.

OK first off, cuite (its spelt cutie by the way) Dont copy n paste all that **** when 50% of it is useless!!!

2nd- Do not call geek squad bro, they are horrible techs

Ok, do this and youll fix your problems:

You need to get an IDE to USB cable, most likely you will have to order it, but it is only 20-30 bucks and it sure beats having to have a tech come out for 40-50 an hour.

Now you must take out your hard-drive and hook it up to an alternative computer(using the IDE to USB) that has 1.) Up to date virus definitions 2.) A good Adware/Spyware scanning program

Whatever you do, do not try to access the drive from the other computer, just scan it.

The reason you have to do this is because whatever nasty virus you have it has most likely burrowed itself into your system and if it is a well coded virus it will disrupt any automatic removal techniques like running an Anti-Virus or in your case even installing them. Chances are that if you even get one installed, it will by-pass it.

Good luck man

Norton is no good, you just payed for a name. I use AVG...it's free and works just as good, if not better than Norton.
