What does everyone think?
I think it's good that skinny models won't be so highly publisized (sp?), but is it neccesarily all good?

Will this make skinny girls feel bad about themselves though?
Like some overweight girls do as most people look down on them

its just the same as saying 'lets ban all fat girls from modelling'. both are bad there needs to be a medium. whilst skinny girls can model skimpy stuff we need bigger girls for plus size clothes to show that they too can follow fashion and look good

I think it's a good idea to include models of every shape and size. I get tired of seeing very skinny models. I'm not fat, but I don't have that nigh-androgenous look they do, and so the clothes never look the same on me as they do on them.
One of the designers interviewed was whining about the rights of the designers to design clothing for whatever body type they prefer. Excellent point. What about the rights of the general populace to be able to participate equally in high fashion trends? What about the rights of the hourglass-figured to have well-designed clothing to wear?
There's no RIGHTS in something like this. It's an industry, just like any other. When something doesn't work for the consumer, he buys something else. The old industry declines, the new industry rises. Like supermarkets. 500 years ago, one made one's own food, one didn't buy everything from a store. Now you'd have a difficult time finding anyone who could make all of their own food. (And I mean right down to killing the animal.) We don't have wagon wheel makers anymore, or coopers (barrel makers). It's the same thing.
Super skinny is only a trend. It's a 40 year trend, but a trend, nonetheless. It will pass. If that hurts someone's career... well, that's terrible, sorry. But then the super-skinny trend has probably hurt the careers of less "gazelle-like" women, too. *shrug*
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. A fashion industry that reflects that can only be a good thing.

Most men dislike skinny women anyway, they prefer a nice rounded bottom and some voluptuous boobs. So I'm sure the blokes are glad of it.
As for skinny girls being "looked down on" as much as fat girls Come on what planet are you on!!! There is no way skinny people have to put up with the same amount of shite and crap and prejudice and lack of compassion from others as fat people do!
I'm a 10-12 and happy, I would hate to be any skinnier. And my BF would hate me to be skinnier as well!!!

Well done Spain for taking this stance in Madrid!!! I read that Italy is going to do the same and about time! Young girls AND some adult women try to emulate these bean pole models. The fashion image of that anorexic heroin addict look which the fashion industry portrays is irresponsible especially on young impressionable teenagers. Yes, in general, some clothes do look better on slim women, but they look better on slimmish healthy looking women who don't look as if they are about to keel over through lack of nourishment!

Were not in Spain an it is better to look good in a size 6 then a size 36, i am happy to be slim and fit rather then being fat! and doesn't Britain have a rise in fat people it's so unhealthy! i guess unlike Britain Spain has more slim people.

like ridiculously anorexic models??? the ones that have their bones protruding out of their ribs, and hips, yes that is necessary.
but for other models that are slim and look beautiful and healthy, then no i dont think its ok, they deserve to not be punished just because they are smaller than a size 5, but not everyone in this world is super thin, but then again not everyone is fat, and being too fat is not good either...

I would think that girls of normal build will be used, so more women will probably feel better about themselves, which can't be bad on average. ~You can't get everything right, and some will feel worse. You can't accept responsibility for ever soul on the planet, so I think this sounds good.

Yup. adult males drop some weight quicker via fact they don't have fairly some physique fat like women persons do. they have greater muscle and burn fat aster whilst women persons have greater physique fat for toddlers. women persons are assume to have greater physique fat than adult males do. it quite is why you're fatter than him. women persons will continually be fatter than adult males, no rely what length. Why *****? you should be blessed with thunder thighs! that pulls adult males. i admire thunder thighs on lady. Mmmm, attractive. provide up crying and recover from it! adult males will continually be skinnier than women persons and that's a actuality. adult males rule!

absolutely spot on. We need less pressure, especially on the young to aim for a 0 or even 00 size in clothes

too much of a good thing is indeed bad. Too skinny just isn't pretty. Look at Nicole Richie. Irrispective of her character she used to be fairly pretty. And now look at her.
