ok i went to the tower of terror ride at disneys mgm studios. i got into the elevator and sat down. i buckled the seat belt that there was. as we started to rise i started to panic because nobody had any thing like a lab bar of shulder bar only a cheap waist seat belt. luckily i was sitting on the side of one of the elevators and there was this little grab bar i held on to during each drop.so what im asking is is there a lapbar on the ride and if not is it safe with just the seat belt.

whenever they show the ride on the travel channel they show a black lap bar for each person.

Disney is the safest theme park in america there is nothing to worry about. i have been tower terror before and it very safe. it may seen like there is a lap bar on the travel channel because of the way the seats are posisioned. i always thought that too but once i got on the ride i knew that there was nothing worry about. it is great ride and the seatbelts lock when the door to the elevator closes so it won't break. the only time they unlock is at the end

There used to be a lap bar but what happened was larger people in your row would keep the lap bar from going all the way down, so they put the seatbelts in instead. In my opinion, the seatbelts are safer than the lap bar, even though it was a lot more fun when you could "float" up when the ride went down with the lap bar.

As for the travel channel they must have some old footage of the ride when the lap bar was in place.

There use to be lap bars & only one seat in the middle with just the belt, but about 3 years ago they changed it to make the ride more scary. I love the idea of only the seat belt, cause I never held onto the rail to begin with.

Just raise your arms into the air & have fun.

I also went on that ride but at a different place, which is disneys california adventure theme park, and I am sorry to say that all they had was the cheap waist belt to. I grabed my husband the whole time. Ill prob never go on it again, I really just did not feel safe at all.

I have only gone on the Tower of Terror at the Disneyland Resort on California, and they too, use seat belts. When I go on that ride, the seat belt was the only thing holding me into the seat! If I hadn't had that, I would have flown out!!!

Ive been on the ride a few times, and there is no lap bar. I agree with you though kid, if that seat belt ever breaks, youre gonna have a headache.

disneys mgm studio is very very popluar and trust me they know what theyre doing, a lot of times you think the safety gear isnt enough. but it is. they study each and every ride very carefully. and sometime they dont make alot of safety stuff because its scarier that way and no there was nothing elese i saw ethier when i went on it in march
