I have a "boot from NIC:" option on my boot menu. Is it possible to copy files, even though the computer wont boot from the HDD?

I honestly couldn't tell you about "boot from NIC" as I'm not familiar, but if you have another bootable hard drive, or a working computer, you could install your hard drive into it and try to get the files off with your operating system (windows ??).

You can also try booting into a Live CD OS like Knoppix, which has utiltiies. You may be able to get your files that way.

It depends if the hard drive just doesn't have good boot files, or if the hard drive is bad. You can try hooking it up to another computer as a slave and copying the files over to that computer.
