Even if we fins Oil somewhere else in universe, how are we going to bring it to eirth? Don't you think that it will be a little too expensive to bring few barrels of Oil after spending millions on one shuttle flight?
By the way do not get discourge by these silly responses. These are just silly dudes. I do appreciate your spirit to find peace and would encourge you keep thinking like this.

It cost NASA millions of dollars not to launch a shuttle, and I said not to launch a shuttle. Who is going to pay for drilling oil and getting the oil rig into space, or building the oil rig in space how long would that take. It takes them 10 years to fix a telescope, how long is it going to take to build a oil rig and find oil on another planet, if there is oil on other planets. Sounds like a good movie but it just not realistic, Sorry.

Oil is a hydrocarbon which is formed from decomposed LIFE. There is no discovered life off-Earth, so the likelihood that oil could have formed independantly of life is incredibly slim.

Oil is an organic by-product of the decay of living creatures millions of years ago. So, while it is possible that there are other planets with petroleum resources, they are comparably rare.
But other mineral resources are easily within reach. The problem is, nobody cares enough to invest in harnessing those resources.

Lighten up, guys. English may not be his first language. Check your facts before attacking someone.
In answer to your question see above. I believe there are mineral resources in space, especially between in the belt, and on the moon.
