Hi! Okay, here goes: My period is due tomorrow. I couldn't wait any longer to test so I took a home pregnancy test this afternoon. Within two minutes there was one dark line (the control) and a very, very faint line in the test window. Could this be a positive test? Hubby and I had sex on day 13 and 14 of my cycle and now I have been having cramps like I'm going to start my period. Is the test negative and I will start my period tomorrow? Or could this be a positive test. TTC so I'm pretty impatient! Thanks!

If it was a solid line, even faintly visible then it is positive. I am a lab tech and that's the way we report the results in the laboratory to the doctors.

This could be a positive test, I tested with that little faint second line 4 times with my daughter. Then I was actually pregnant, I also had a very light period, so even the cramping and a little bleeding is possible it depends on your body, Have you ever been pregnant before?
I have to say yes you could be pregnant I would take another test in 2-3 days if you are do not start by then! Good luck to you!

hon i had the same thing happen to me. Back in july i took a test hubbie and i have been ttc for 1 1/2 year anyway i did the first respone test..one line dark (control) the other very very faint...so faint i thought it was the shadow of where the line would be if i weere pregnant...anyway i didnt take it seriously and tossed it...2 weeks later i was feeling really crappy so hubbie jokingly said maybe i was preggers...long story short i did another HPT (clear blue) and it was +! to confirm i had a blood test done it confirmed I was 4 weeks! so the first really really light line was true!. Wait another week thn test again but I would consider it positive... good luck to you! just to add...dont waste your money on a digital test just yet thay need a certain amount of hcg to detect a + if you are only showing a faint line now then its probably not enough to make the digital tell show a +

A faint line is positive, as long as it was a faint line within the recommended time on the pamphlet, I believe it is a 10 minute time period. So if you got a faint line yes you are pregnant. I took a pregnancy test and it was so faint i didn't believe it, but doctor confirmed. I took it the day before AF was do also, So just test again in another day, and you will hopefully see a darker line. Congratulations and Take Care lots of {{{{{{Baby Dust)))))))

If there was a clearly visible line in the test area, then that is a positive result. A test can come back positive as early as 4 days before your period is due, depending on when the baby implanted, and how fast the hormone levels are rising, and the sensitivity of the test.

If there is still a doubt in your mind, I suggest trying a digital test. The display will either say "Pregnant" or "not pregnant" which is about as clear a result as it gets!

You said that there are 2 lines? I believe you could be pregnant. I just took an at home pregnancy test 3 weeks ago and I had 2 lines. What you need to do is read the instructions that come inside of the box, that should tell you exactly how to read that brand of test. Hope I could help!

Sounds like ababy is on the way. If 2 lines mean positive, than that is a positive. A pregnancy test can say you aren't pregnanhtw en you are, but it will never say you are pregnant if you aren't. It looks for hcg levels in your urine. You only have this if you are pregnant. Just because the line is faint, could just be the way the test was manufactured.

Congrats!

I am going through this exact same thing. The 2nd lines on the tests I took were very faint so I am going to test again in a few days just to make sure..... Hubby and I really want this so we want to be sure....You should do the same.

Good luck

I've always heard that a line is a line. However, wait until tomorrow morning. If no period then...use your first morning urine and test again. If still faint then you should either go get a blood test or wait it out a bit. Good Luck

A line is a line, no matter how faint it is if it is there it is positive. It does not matter which days you had sex, what matters is that you ovulated on the 13 or 14, if you did then that explains the faint line!

it can mean you're pregnant. It' still early and some women have low level of "pregnancy hormone".
when I went to doctor, they took test, the second line was very faint, they didn't want to believe first, we had to wait more time and then the second line got a little more visible but still pale, they said I am. Good luck to you.
