you don't say where or how much? The only way to stop metal from rusting is to seal its pores preventing moisture & oxygen from entering. A reputable rust prevention system is made by KBS coatings. Whether your rust problem is big or small, it is the same treatment.

Well there are sprays you can buy on the internet that remove rust (go on ebay). However if it is your car i'm afraid it's a little difficult. Depending on how deep the rust has gone and how widespread it is will determine how you go about it. In my personal opinion, it would be best to lightly sand it away (you can buy a special brush or paper from most garages) and then respray the affected area.

If you have the equipment you can sand off the rust, just so long as it is not too bad. Then put primer where the rust was, this will prevent rst from spreadind ond returning. A little touch paint will cover it up.

naval jelly available at your local harware store will disolve it. It may damage some of the finish, however the only way to remove and prevent further rust is to refinish the corroded part.

I would get it sand-blasted and the apply KBS RustSeal. That product is awesome. It goes on smoothly and I have beat that thing with a hammer ... no chips. Seriously good stuff.

Depends where it is located (on the paint, under the hood, etc...).

I'd suggest that you check with your local auto shop for some tips and tricks.
