Is anyone on here ona high school dance team or ever been on one(dancers with the band)I need to know what are the requirements and things you need to do.My problem is not the dancing but I need to know if you have to do splits and flips and things like that cause if so i need to learn fast.

I was on a dance team in high school. One or two of the girls would do splits and back-flips just because they knew how, but usually we didn't do that kind of thing. We were the dancers, not the cheerleaders.

If you are talking about an HBCU style dance squad (like the ones at Grambling, Jackson State or Texas Southern), then it would be very helpful for you to practice splits, kicks and rolls. Each squad is different, but almost all of them look for good high kicks and splits. There are a lot of exercises you can do to strengthen those. Try holding your splits every night and increasing the amount of time each day. Or have someone push on you while you are holding the splits. Make sure you are stretching each day.
