if your mucus plug starts coming out a little bit at a time how long does it take on average from when you notice the snotty mucus until the bloody core part comes out too?? and how long from then is it that labor begins? im about 37 weeks along with my second child but i was induced early with my daughter and have never experienced this. not only that but i also had all back labor and am feeling like i won't be able to distinguish real contractions from braxton hicks...so i feel like this is my first labor and not my second.

All I really had was the snotty looking stuff and for me it came out about two weeks before I had both of my babies. My mom said hers came out a few hours before me. So I think it varies. Braxton Hicks won't be consistent. They will come and go at different intervals. They also don't hurt.

I lost my mucus plug on 3 days ago and it was just snotty stuff with a few spots of blood. I called my doc and she said you can lose it weeks before going into labor BUT my mother in law lost hers and went 12 hours later. So I think it just depends on the person. If you are not having any contractions or other labor symptoms, I would just let the doc know and wait.

I lost mine about a week before both of my daughters were born. You will know it when you see it. As far as the back labor. OMG, You will definitely know the difference. I had horrible back labor with my first pregnancy and I spent half the day on my hands and knees, I was in labor just not active labor till later that night. I actually heard that women who experience back labor feel that the labor and delivery itself was mild compared to that. That sometimes it can be worse than the actually thing. You will know it when it comes. I thought my delivery was easy. Your instincts will kick in and you will know. One sign is you feel like you need to pee like really bad but no matter what, you barely go and it's constant. I was going every five minutes thinking I needed to but it was the baby. Good Luck!

2weeks? UGHHH LMFAO! First off contact your doctor. According to the residing physician in my office anywhere from 24-48 hours after the mucus plug has been lost. You may have to be put on a monitor to watch your contractions. Sometimes it is difficult establishing braxton hicks from real labor pains. Good Luck!

2 weeks? and trust me you will feel the real pains. here is my story, i waited(not even knowing i was in labor) until the pains were 2 minutes apart and 40-60 seconds long. i even walked to the hospital which was about 3 blocks in pain. i was at 8 cm dilated. trust me you will feel pain.
