If your husband never adopted the child, then he never accepted the responsibility to care for the child. Legally, the only one he abandoned is you. At best, you might be able to secure alimnoy for yourself if you can prove that he was your main source of support.

You may have to go after the real father of the child unless you can prove that there is a relationship between the child and the stepfather. As for you, you may be entitled to spousal support but I would get an attorney immediately and start the paperwork as soon as possible. This way you might stand a better chance in court.

Sorry, but the stepfather owes the child nothing. You will have to go after the father. As for credit cards you are responsible for 1/2 the amount owed on them if their in both names.
