I don't know much about chemistry, but I think the smoke-like vapor forms when temperatures are very cold.
Check the temperature setting on your freezer.
It may be that you have it turned down too cold.

It must be a particularly humid day in your area. The cold is just turning the humidity in the air into instant frozen vapor. It happens only in summer where I live. There is nothing wrong with your freezer.

The cold air from your freezer turns to mist when it hits the warmer air outside. Your freezer might be set too cold if this happens.

Normal. It's just the cold air mixing with the warm air in your room. Much like when you breath out during the winter and see smoke.

Well i hate to be the first to tell you that this is normal but it is!it could be that your freezer is turned up to high id check that first it shouldn't be turned all the way up;for instance mine goes from a to c its set at b right were it should be. PS.a friend

your freezer is working properly you have a vapor cloud caused by high humidity or your freezer is now a smoke maker or fog maker for special effects
