I was a giver...but now I try to be a taker(The tables have changed from experience of not getting anything...)

I am a Taker first then a Giver later. How can i be a Giver when i have nothing to offer? So i need to take first to be able to give.If the scales have to tip to one side then i am more of a taker,honestly.
