Okay, here's the situation. I had a job interview for a part-time job at a retail store on Friday. The lady I spoke with said I should hear something by Monday from the manager. Well Monday came and went and nothing. However my friend who applied for a full time position, with the same company, got a call today (Tuesday) saying she had been hired. My question is should I call the company to follow up to my interview, and what exactly should I say?

Thanks

I thought about sending a follow up letter, but because the interview seemed so casual, they only asked me 3 questions in the back storage room, I didn't bother. Also my friend answered the question "Why do you want to work here?" with, "Cause I love your crazy T-Shirts" and she got the job!?

Definitely call. Say you are excited about the chance to work for them and you expected to hear something yesterday.

Good Luck!!!

Don't panic. It's probably just a lag in the hiring process. Call and ask to speak with their personnel office. Chances are they are still awaiting the results of your background check and drug screening (if that's what they do). The companies that handle those don't do it over the weekend, so it might cause a few days delay for you.

When you talk to the personnel person, be calm and give them your name and the position you were applying for. Ask if they have heard back from the manager that interviewed you and if they would like to schedule an orientation or your first day. At that point, they'll look to see if they've been given the go ahead to bring you on, or they should be able to tell you what the hold up is. Be sure to leave them with some updated contact information (there have been so many times when I've called applicants only to learn the phone number has been disconnected or they never return my messages).

If you haven't heard by the end of the week, then I'd start to worry.

Definately. Be persistant when pursuing a job. Job interviews are basically your 15 minutes of fame and you need to sell yourself that you are the best candidate for the position and know the company the product and the type of customer you will be dealing with. Following up before they do is a great way to show you want this job and you will go after it.

Yes...contact them or better yet, stop by in person, and tell them you had applied for a position there and wanted to follow up with them. No need to mention that you have not been called, or that your friend was called. Good luck

U would get it, u won't. Its already previous. U have given ur maximum suitable shot n there's no longer something u can do approximately it. So merely loosen up n watch for the end result. it extremely is significant stay loosen up esp if u hv different interviews waiting.
