I cook with cumin all the time and my house does not smell like cumin, except when I bring home a new bag of it. Put the cumin in a sealed jar. Find a good incense like sandal wood and burn several sticks of it a day for a few days. Before long, you'll smell like a taco no more.

Go to a place that sells herbs or natural medicine. Here, where I live, we have an Indian store. Ask for white sage. It looks like a little grayish colored branch. Take a lighter to the end of it, and walk through your house with the sage burning. It'll overpower and iliminate the smell of just about anything. When you're done, let it sit for a while until it burns down. I actually enjoy the smell of white sage, it's a bit unpleasant at first, but it's very relaxing.

I like justaguy's response. I can't believe you have the scent of Cumin in your house? It seems to be that unless you have it in your cupboards or something like that, it would have gone away. I like the smell of it . Paint, spray, clean cabinets. Don't buy anymore. Throw the old bottle away if you still have it. I don't like to cook beans without it, though. Good wishes.

I bought a chair from a heavy smoker, the smell was awful, I bought some febreeze and after a couple applications, the smell was gone. I would also suggest OUST that will help with the in air smell.

Don't know what the temperature is where you live but you might want to air-out your dwelling...take some Oust Air Sanitizer as well. It works great in eliminating odors by killing odor-causing bacteria in the air! That's how much better it is than the usual air fresheners and sprays. Little higher priced, but worth it! Different scents too.....what are you waiting for, go get some!

Use a mixture of baking soda and water.. Wipe down the walls. The baking soda will elimate the germs and the smell.

Or try setting out a bowl of white vinagar. The vinagar will absorbe the odor.

A fresh coat of paint fixes all. Nothing works better, or faster to get a smell out of a house.

To get rid of all kinds of smells Tide is helpful because it contains enzymes. Sometimes you have to treat the same place multiple times. Sprinkle it on and vacuum or clean with dissolved Tide.

This is going to sound silly, but it works. Take dish towels and soak them in white vinegar, and ring them out really good. Then swing them above you head for a few minutes, and it will absorb some of the orders.

I thougt my great aunt was losing her mind when she told me to try this, but it really worked.
