You don't have to act like a guy. In any roommate situation there are certain rules of thumb that will get the best results:

Don't leave a mess or anything lying around anywhere, ever.
Don't criticise, advise, lecture, or invalidate people in any way.
Don't demand attention or respect.
Try to help in any house-related activities.
Don't try to get into peoples' personal business.
Assume that you are expected to share in all expenses, no matter how friendly people are to you. (You will be amazed at peoples' personality changes when you start to owe them money)

some of these, or all of them may be obvious, but if you follow them always, you shouldn't have problems unless you have abusive people there. If people are abusive to you, don't take the soft approach. Don't be a victim.

I have been in many roommate situations. Good luck.

You don't have to act like the guys to be good with the guys. In a studio type apartment there are going to be many wierd moments but you just have to take them with a grain of salt and laugh them off. Just be yourself and dont leave your feminine things laying around, you will be just fine. Oh, and watch out for guys that aren't your boyfriend...men's philosophy is usually "you cant get a pregnant woman pregnant."

What happened with you and your bf? Why didn't he let you move in with him instead of a total stranger. Separated by a curtain...what a joke. He really wanted to get rid of you.
This is a sure recipe for trouble....you don't even know what kind of guy this is you're going to be living with. Call home and get some money to find your own place.

there will be moments.. guarenteed. with that set up? you might as well get confortable with him seeing you partially or totaly nakid.

And... if he has girls over... you may want to invest in some ear plugs.

I'd try to find a place of your own asap.

just act the opposite of the way you act now. stop putting on makeup, stop shaving everywhere, eat what you want when you want and make a mess in the process, and make lots of bodily function noises.

if you are in PHX please email or IM me. I don't want sex.

You be you. I'm sure they will respect your boundaries if you set them up correctly.

And remember...this is only temporary.

Good luck!
