If you are somebody who reapplies sunblock regularly throughout the day, or at least twice a day, how do you feel about slathering the cream over skin that is already greasy? Do you cleanse your face each time before you reapply? Or if you don't, are you getting pimples as a consequence of this?
I will be undergoing a laser treatment for the face, shortly, and I've been advised to wear sunblock on a daily basis. I am not the type to be using sunblock like that, so this is something I have to get used to, and I'm off from a bad start.
I've bought the St. Ive's Sunblock SPF 90. Anyone else using this?

I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and you need to purchase a Sunblock that is specified for the face. I know we have one that is a moisturizer with an SPF of 25 which is more than enough. It is made to stay on your face all day and you put on before you put on your foundation. Anything after 25 or 30 is pointless and will break your face out because it is usually oiler and thicker. Also, if you are mixing different brands of makeup, cleansers, and sunblocks you are more likely to have a serious breakout because the ingredients will interact with eachother. You also need to pay attention to your skin type. If you have oily skin and are reapplying sunblock all day then you will have more breakouts than norm. Hope this helps.

Good lord! SPF 90??? I am really sure you won't need to reapply that twice a day. Perhaps you should try some makeup with sunblock already blended in. I personally like those sunblock sticks....they are like really big chap sticks, but for your face. I use Neutrogena. Good Luck!

I don't use that type, but, when I was getting out in the sun a lot, I would use about a 30. Now, it depends on how much time you spend outside, and how much you sweat, and whether or not your sunblock is coming off..
If you're not maintaining the sunblock, then you need to re-apply.. check the instructions, and see what it says..
And, I think that there is actually a point of diminishing returns here, with sunblock, after a certain level, you're not gaining anything.. check with www.webmd.com and see if you can find data there..

I will tell you this...
If you put ANYTHING on top of your sunblock, it will NOT work properly. Suck it up, and only wear sunblock for the duration of the expected recovery time. After that, a good foundation containing an SPF of 15 or so should do it. Take care of your skin properly, or you will not heal properly. Do not listen to these "consultants" that claim they have the perfect cream, lotion, potion, etc. It seems to me the only training they have had is to exploit themselves in any way to attempt to get a sale. I am a trained professional who has been in the industry for 7 years, and you can trust my opinion. And, I am not trying to sell something. Imagine that...
PS
Not wearing sunblock on damaged skin (and believe me, after this treatment your skin will be damaged) makes the skin more prone to the harmful rays of the sun, therefore susceptible to skin cancer...

Any sunblock needs to be re-applied on a regular basis, more if you sweat or are in the water.Check the type you are using and go by their guide lines. As far as being greasy,it could be that particular brand or you are using to much, washing up in between would be fine too,as long as you re-apply
