Well, obviously the blue bonnet as it grows wild in Texas. My Crepe Myrtles do really well. Texas is the larges producer of Roses in the US. The Prickly Pear is the state plant.

To those who answer Cactus - sit on it.
Texas is a state/country with a diverse growing climate.
we have 4 zones on the growth charts so depending on soil and climate =s what you can best grow.
If you are serious visit Texas Dept of Agriculture website and explore what you want to grow.

It really depends on what part of Texas you are looking at. Texas is very, very large. It encompasses just about every climate you can imagine in the lower 48 states. From Pine forest in the East to desert in the west, to prairieland in the panhandle to coastal swamps along our Gulf Coast.
You had better pick a certain part of Texas for your project, or be prepared to cover them all.
Did your teacher assign this to you? If so, you may want to ask them if you are supposed to do one part of Texas, or the entire state!
Good luck!

Texas is huge state, so it has a very diverse bioculture. What grows well in Brownsville (Citrus trees and palm trees for example) wont grow in Amarillo. therefore you need to be more precise in your location. the Gulf Coast is different than the panhandle, the West is different form the East. All have different temperature and rainfall amounts.
