Ok so it doesn't happen every time, but it does happen a lot. I really hate pdf files, I wish websites wouldn't use them. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it because I am opening them directly instead of saving them first?

I'm not sure if this is your problem but some ploeple do discrib it as a crash. When opening a pdf from a web site the the IE seem to lock up or just displayes a blank screen. Two thing casue this one the version you are using isn't the same as the version the web site server is setup for. The other cause is a bug found in reader 6.0 and all updates until version 7.0.X.
The best fix is to uninstall all version and update for the adobe readers installed. Reboot. Download the latest version of the reader and reinstall. Don't reinstall over any verions of the reader because it will transfer the error to the new version.

Good luck

an outbreak loose, sparkling abode windows with none history applications has around 40-50 tactics working. numerous svchost.exe entries is regularly occurring, besides the undeniable fact that those shouldn't take lots RAM. On my gadget I actual have 3 svchost's working on an entire of around 25MB RAM (25,000 ok), so the two you have ALOT of pointless stuff open or you have an outbreak. Getting an outbreak out of gadget documents like svchost is quite no longer hassle-free. in case you come across an outbreak on your gadget IMO the perfect answer is to backup your maximum needed documents (photos, mail) and do an entire wipe of each little thing on the laptop and a do sparkling abode windows installation. a minimum of I do it like that, i do no longer take any possibilities with viruses ;)
