I prefer the books because the movies don't convey all the information from the books properly. I don't like the changes that are made because of the budget or time constraints. I enjoy watching the movies too, but I can't help but notice all the stuff that is left out from the books.

I watched the first three movies before I ever opened a book. I loved all of the movies, which I watched with my son. He started reading the books and I read each one when he was done with it. They were so detailed and so well-written, good enough for grown-ups, that I couldn't choose a favorite!
The movies are amazing and so well-done, you can see that they were made by the best in the business, and the actors are superb. But they are based on the books, so that is where all of the original ideas came from. I love reading great novels like that, the kind you can't put down. They are truly addicting. But then again, so are the movies, you just can't wait for the next one to come out!
Ah, so you see my dilemma? Which ones are the best? I guess I would have to say the books, they entertain you for a longer period of time and give you more details about what the characters are thinking and feeling. You really get to know them and care about them, and the movies wouldn't even exist without them.
I love them all, but I guess in the end I would choose the books. Fair enough?

I prefer the books by FAR!!! I understand that the books are so large that the films are forced to cut a lot of things out, but although they're entertaining they lack the depth and meanings of the books.

I prefer the books because the films leave too much out. But still got to love the movies to see if the visuals match my imagination.

The books were actually better than the movies, but only because the movies left out a lot of the things that were in the books. Especially in HP and The Goblet of Fire.
No matter what the movies are missing, they are still excellent. :) Hard to really say:) I guess I'm too much of a fan.

I've never read the books, but now that I've seen the movies, I would picture all the characters as they were in the movies. People who read some of the books first before seeing any of the movies sometimes didn't like the movie at first since they had already pictured in their minds how everyone and everything looked; but, most people end up liking the movies in the end. I think if you read the books first, you'll probably still like them the best since there is more detail in them.
