I'm using a colleague's work computer and did some internet searches that were not business related. I absentmindedly allowed for that feature that gives a drop down list of previous internet searches. Is there a way to turn this off and erase my history of searches?

The record of search history which appears in the search box on Yahoo! is actually a feature controlled by your browser, not Yahoo!

If you have Internet Explorer as your browser, you may stop the search history from being generated by following the instructions below:

1. Select the the 'Tools' menu in Internet Explorer.
2. Select 'Internet Options', then select the 'Content' tab.
3. Under Personal information, click on the 'AutoComplete' box.

On the AutoComplete Settings window you can click the 'Clear Forms' box to delete your current history, or you can uncheck the Forms box to permanently stop the generation of the search history.

A single item can be delete by pressing the 'delete' key while the item is highlighted.

If you have Firefox as your browser, you may stop the search history from being generated by following the instructions below:

1. Select the the 'Tools' menu in Firefox.
2. Select 'Options', then select the 'Privacy' button, and then the 'Saved Forms' tab.

In the window you can click the 'Clear Saved Form Data Now' box to delete your current history, or you can uncheck the "Save Information' box to permanently stop the generation of the search history.

A single item can be delete by pressing the 'shift delete' key while the item is highlighted.
