do people cheat just cuz they can, or do u think it is because something is missing from the relationship? why not work as hard on the relationship first, and then separate if it's not working? is the person who cheats "proud" of it??
question comes not from experience, but from listening to radio and situations where men/women catch each other cheating...

I think cheating is something that's sort of thrust upon a person. They are going about their lives and although they love the person they are with and even if nothing is missing attention is addictive. At first a glance or compliment is taken as just that. After some time (especially if they are away from their love on a regular basis) those glances become sought after. There is a psychologist that works with marriages and he says that all people have what he calls a "love bank" People everywhere can make love deposits and withdrawls. When we first meet a person we make tons of deposits to the point where when we think of the other person all we can think of is good deposits they have made. As a relationship goes on people begin to make withdrawls by either not fulfilling emotional needs or by saying or deliberately doing hurtful things. When one party feels that no love deposits are being made they seek deposits from other people. These deposits begin with glances and compliments. After some time these deposits are so needed that they give up on the relationship they have in order to obtain more deposits from the other person.
So, long answer shortened.... People cheat because their emotional needs aren't being met and seperation is not the answer because they truly just want love from the one they love but often so many hurtfull things have been done that they can't accept that love. Best wishes

Women "tend to" cheat for emotion, men for sexual variety... and both can be for the excitement because there's a risk of getting caught. Affairs don't tend to be very emotional (there are exceptions) and many don't tend to last for long.
If something's missing, why not broach the subject with a partner? That's the way I've always felt. I've had to leave some relationships because my needs weren't being met (and I'm not needy!)
I think there's a sex toy and pronography industry for a reason... at the same time, there are a lot of men who will visit prostitutes (mainly for oral sex, surprisingly)

Well I have cheated before (regretfully) and I have to say, I did it becasue the person I was with didnt seem interested anymore, I mean well, we were used to eachother and when the other guy came along, he made me feel special, and sexy so I did it. I was not proud and it ruined my life, and the guy who I was with for 5 years' live even more. Bad mistake, but I think people do it to make themselves feel more attractive, some even do it our of anger.

I think men cheat because they like variouty, I am married and when me and my hubby first got togeather he was with someone else but did not tell either one of us i found out the hard way ...We worked it out of course. But I give him everything in our sex lives i think the only resson why he would cheat is he would want to try something/someone new? Hopefully he would not actually do this!

I think sometimes it is because they just don't care anymore and sometimes they do it because they are not getting satisfied in the bedroom. Either way it is very wrong. I mean if you have to be with someone else then why not let the one you are with go before you tear thier heart into a million pieces, right?

cheating comes from the 2 persons that are cheating. in my opinion when someone cheats its because there was no true love in the relation to begin with, or one of the spouses is violent or abusive.

usually a person who cheats is just unhappy with their selves and use any excuse to explain why they do it, You could be the best person to them in every way a cheater will still cheat, and it's not just a man thing women cheat also their just more secretive about it.

Depends on the person, some have no morals, they only are thinking of themselves and don't care for you and if they are cheating lose em, yeah their proud of it because they think they know it all oooh i got my cake and im eating it too

People cheat because for some reason they think they can find better.
Sometimes they do, but that doesnt make it right.
Break up first, end it honorably.
