You know how if you put glue on your hand or arm and you have to scratch the dry glue off, well i have dandruff thats the same way. I have had this problem for more than a decade. Sometimes around my ear(the area between the top of my ear and my head), an oily substance developes which dries and becomes the same thing thats on my head.

Can you tell me what i can use to get rid of this.

Should i use Shampoo, Conditioner, or Shampoo and Conditioner.
Also what name brand should i use.
Did it solve your problem as well assuming you had the same problem.

I have had a view people say the same thing and i was wondering if you will say the same thing they did. I would tell you what it was, but it might change what your answer was going to be.

Dear Person,

scruf, dandruff or Pityriasis capitis (scientific name) Some dandruff is normal and just dead skin from your scalp. However the way you describe your condition it is not normal but excessive.

Dandruff can also be a symptom of seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, fungal infection or head lice.
Please make sure you don't scratch to hard, because scratching can cause breaks in the skin can increase the risk for infections, particularly from staph and strep bacteria.
Old fashioned home remedies are apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Apply the liquid to the scalp and allow to remain for several minutes to several hours, even overnight, then shampoo and rinse clean in the shower. The vinegar will act as both a fungicide to fight the cause of the cell buildup, as well as a rinsing agent, which will rinse clumps of skin away before they appear large enough to be visible.
Bathing in salt water is also beneficial

However I strongly recommend that you seek professional advice by consulting with a dermatologist! forms of dandruff, particularly if accompanied by flaking or scaling on other parts of the body, should be treated by a dermatologist. Dandruff can occur in conjunction with skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Dandruff varies from person to person. It may be necessary to try various shampoos with different active ingredients (selenium sulfide, tar, salicylic acid, zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole) to find the best suited for any one individual. Also, an individual may find that alternating between different treatments will be more effective than sticking with a single treatment, which can become less effective over time.

Try this simple thing first: Shampoo with Ivory dish washing liquid (not clothes detergent). It will remove the dandruff and hopefully after a month or so the dandruff won't return and you can change to a regular shampoo if you like.

If Ivory doesn't work, see a dermatologist.
