Most salons numb your belly button before piercing, so it shouldn't hurt at all at the time. However, afterwards it will twinge when you move or bend down, and sleeping on your stomach will be awkward for a while.
There's also the risk of infection through poor aftercare, so if you get it done make sure you take care of it properly (I recommend savlon wound wash).

No, sticking a needle through your skin won't hurt.
Ok seriously, I don't have mine done but my best friend has gotten hers pierced 3 times. So I guess it can't hurt that badly.

It hurts like a #!@*, but only for a short while. The first several days after will hurt a lot if you get it caught on your clothes. Keep it clean with Bactine. (Hey, that rhymed.)

It's a pinch at first, while its healing it can get sore and sting a little. Just make sure you have clothes that aren't constantly rubbing against the jewelry and you'll be fine.

mine did not hurt it hurts worse while it is healing than getting it done make sure you keep it clean and everything will be okay....
