Why wife hates the sound of "Want to have sex?" and I feel so fake saying, "Want to make love?"

You shouldn't have to say anything. Start kissing her in the places she likes (neck, stomach...don't go for the "promise land" right away). Then kiss her lips starting out gently, then a little firmer while touching her neck and face. Then slide your hands down to undress her. You can imagine where the rest of this story goes. Trust me this will work. Women like to be romanced and warmed up a little. Just asking her to have sex doesn't show her that you have any passon left for her. Passion is one of the most important things for a woman to feel in a long term relationship.
