Weight can affect whether or not you ovulate. It is a natural protection to you so you don't get pregnant. I have struggled with this also. I have started weight watchers a few months ago and my periods started coming on time again. I have lost a few lbs. and I recommend that you do the same. Of coarse to get the same outcome. :) Weight will just make it more difficult to become pregnant. just as if someone smokes it decreases your chances same thing with weight

Being severly overweight ( obese) could have effect on your ability to ovulate. I am pretty heavy and my dr insisted that i was too fat and not ovulating. I am now due on Feb 2nd! ( proved him wrong!) what helped me was a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! My husband and I tried for a year and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

it is possible that overweight people can't get pregnant, if the male has overweight problems that can affect the eficiency of sperms as well as overweight women ovules aren't very viables. But it doesn't mean that's your problem, after every pregnancy the womans body suffers lots of changes because of the lack of a certain type of hormone during pregnancy and the prescence of others, this changes may affect ovulation or even the lenght of endometrious. Better go check a doctor.

I don't know about not ovulating at all...but weight certainly can play a factor, whether you weigh too much or too little. Talk to your obgyn about this.
I have never heard of anyone "all of a sudden" become barren after having a child. Unless their is a health problem. Once again, see your doctor to check for anything.
Good luck.

Being overweight can make it harder for you to conceive. Some women suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome that can cause you to be heavier, there are tests to tell if you have this problem. I was tested for this and was found to be "normal." Both times I have gotten pregnant it was while I was trying to lose weight by eating healthy and exercising every day, I don't know if that made a difference, but maybe boosting my metabolism naturally helped me to ovulate. Good luck!

Being very overweight WILL mess with your ovulation and ability to conceive, although many overweight women have no problem. Becoming a healthy weight before conception will increase and maximize your chances of a healthy pregnancy. If you're concerned, see your doctor...he may be able to refer you to a specialist who can rule out any other causes for infertility.

You need to relax, there is no weight limit in order for a women to get pregnant. You are probably trying way too hard, getting pregnant is all what you can thing about. If you really thing that you have to loose some weight, than go for it, but believe me, that is not the reason.Try some romantic things at night, like candles what relax your mind, a romantic get away, or something sexy to wear

I haven't heard that - I think you'd have to be extremely obese. Usually it is very thin women who have trouble with not ovulating.
Go see a doctor. It could be something else. A friend was trying for some time, turned out she was undergoing early menopause. It can be treated, but she never knew! Her period was totally normal seeming.
Best of luck!

Weight doesn't cause you not to get pregnant. It has alot to do with hormone levels, sperm counts and ovulation etc. If you are not ovulating it may be a hormone problem.
The weight is going to be more of a problem for you then your baby. And it can cause problems up the road such as gestational diabetes etc.
