I'm way past puberty but have an upcoming gyn visit. Would like to have some hair in order to not shock the doc that delivered my kids.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I would think the doc would rather it shaved then hairy. I shave mine and when I go to the doc I leave it that way. I just think it looks better without a bunch of bush. I am sure he has seen all kinds anyways.

Don't worry if things are a little slower for you than others. It's a sign that you will be having a long life. A study from a year ago found that the most common factor in women who live well past 90 is that they matured slower and had their first children in their 30s. This is from a time women birth control meant a sheep skin condom.

In the last 100-years, we have begun seeing the emergence of a new species of human who are longer living and healthier. Less than 13% of the elderly have severe health problems. I just wish I was one of them.

Be patient, all that is to happen will happen in its own time. Be good to yourself, and if the other girls snicker, just tell them that it is a sign that you may live to see much of the 22nd century, and all the wonders there in. And if the trend continues, your grandchildren or great grandchildren, may see the dawn of the 3rd millennium.

did you have it waxed or shaved?
I have never had a wax there before, but when I shave, about a week later there is short hairs,
but don't worry, they see it all, my sis in law was a nurse with an obgyn before and has told me many different "hair cuts" down there, and piercings, and even tattoos! Ouch!
Anyway, you don't have to alter your personal hygiene preferences for your doc.
