On 10 gallons midgrade (booster made for 16-20 gal) do any damage to my truck? It knocks without it and I have to rev higher just to get up to speed in traffic. With it, I don't have to rev above the 3000 RPM and it runs smooth.
Its a 3.2L V6 with 190 Hp and supreme knocks a bit too.

the booster shouldnt do any damage but your truck should not be knocking on regular gas. Is it fuel injected? computer controled? maybe needs a tune up or clean the carbon out of the engine.give us some more details and we can help you more

Doesn't sound like the true problem is octane.
I think the octane booster is treating the symptom and not the disease.

If you burn supreme and it still happens then you have something else going on.

I'm not a mechanic, but "timing" comes to mind. You could be having a cylinder fire a little out of sync and that is causing the knock. Might be caused by something else also.

Any 3.2L, V6, 190Hp engine made within the last 30 years should run just fine on the 87 octane. Check your owners manual or visit the manufacturers web site and do some research on your particular model truck to find out what octane is recommended.

I'd get it to a mechanic before you do some serious damage.

It sounds safe to me. I have done the same thing & had no problems. If you put a LOT of octane booster in your engine, there'd probably a problem.

I've heard of some people putting a few gallons of racing fuel into their gas tanks to effectively 'clean' their engines. The engine burns hotter, but burns all the crap away. Do at your own risk, though!

Check your spark plugs, then check your timing because it may be advanced too far and that is the cause of your problem.

Retard your timing 3 degrees.
