you haven't mentioned which language are you learning.But still programming is more logic than the language itself.So in order to develop these skills you can start with c or C++ and you get the basis to adapt to any language you want.
To learn c you can try: Let us C by Yashwant kanetkar
or Robert Lafore for C++.

Try "The Structure and Interpretation of Computer Languages" (SICP). it is a free online book from the computer science program at MIT. It uses a language called Scheme, but for the most part what you'll be learning is how to read and understand computer programs in general.
The syntax is different from most other computer languages, but the concepts are what you really need to get down. Once you understand the basic logical structures of programming, learning a new programminng language will only take a few weeks.

1. Also, HP has free online classes you can take in a variety of subjects that have to do with computers. Just sign up, and you can take the classes at your own pace. Cost=free.
