Nobody at Guantanamo Bay has been arrested. And nobody is being tortured.

Nobody at Guantanamo has been charged with any crimes. They are detainees.

Every country has the right in a conflict to hold and segregate detainees. It's a fact of warfare.

I think the problem is (in a very simplistic way of seeing it) is that what the Bush Administration is doing is confusing to people. While most people understand taking prisoners during a war, a lot of people are confused in this case because they aren't necessarily POW from any specific nation or government - in this "War Against Terrorism" the line is blurred between traditional soldiers and criminals.

Essentially, in this case, I think people who disagree with Guantanamo Bay due so because it's kind of like a parent who tells their kid to not steal and then goes and steals something themselves (while the child watches them do it)... kind of like the US government up-holding freedom and the right to a fair trial and then going and capturing people without actually arresting them or giving them a fair trial.

The photographer was relaying messages for the prisoners. A simple sting operation was set up and he was arrested.

True there are several people waiting for discharge. And some awaiting relocation (snitches)

As for torture, not at Gitmo. Prisoners that are tortured never leave the field.

When I was in the USMC the interpreters did all the torturing of prisoners. They all talked they all died they all were left for the Vultures.

Only select wealthy people get the royal treatment of Gitmo.

The torture at Guantanamo (and different places) ended whilst Bush left workplace. notwithstanding, our government continues to be protecting human beings and not using a tribulation or maybe costs. they have admitted to protecting those that they understand haven't any terrorist connections in any respect. this is freaking ridiculous. Google Uighars and guantanamo and study all approximately it.

LoL...Guantanamo...

You know, during Operation Sea Signal, I helped build Camp X-Ray. Glad I did.

The "inhumane" treatment of the prisoners are below par on most College hazings.

Did we slip sticks under their fingernails? Stick splinters in their scrotum? Electrocute them on a bed spring? Hang them upside down and then put a small incision just behind the ears? Did we slowly suffocat them with paper and water? Were any beheaded?

This is just a taste of what our Soldiers have endured through time and you want to call naked pyramids "inhumane".

How do you know they're innocent?

You lost me at "Al Jazeera." Why do their innocent cameramen know where to show up and roll the cameras every time a car bomb goes off?

We are at war! Things you talk about do happen on occasion, but they are errors. We have to make arrests like this! Afterwards, if he is no murdering jihad warrior, we will let him go.
Do Not Forget That We Are At War!
Remember Sept 11 2001?
I personally do not want any of that to happen to me or you, or any American, EVER again.

I do not believe that the detainees are being tortured. Had they been in any other country...they would be rotting corpses by now... instead they are being fed, receive medical care if needed, have a bed, shower and the freedom to still pray to their god without being killed. All freedoms they would like to take from Americans...even whining liberals like you.

Yes, there are. I just heard Moazzam Begg on the radio this morning. He was imprisoned at Guantanamo for three years, and is now the author of an alarming account of his time in US custody, Enemy Combatant: My Imprisonment at Guantanamo, Bagram and Kandahar. Three years and he was never even charged with anything. He answered his front door, was hooded, cuffed and dragged away from his life for years!
