not quicktime but yes ontthe avi.
Although you can get some programs that will make it play the quicktime .mov filetype.
I personally think mp9 is the best windows player. Ten added a few problems, and 11 really pissed me off.

Good day. there are many types of avi files like xvid and divx and it does not come equipped with that. It comes with some avi codecs. Too much codecs generally will have WMP Unstable. U will have to downlaod the .mov codec to play quicktime files on media player. Windows Media Player 10 is Out and WMP11 is in BETA mode (undergoing tests). Check it out on microsoft.com. Also download K-Lite codec pack in case u come across future avi files dat cant play, u can get it in this setup by choozing and installing. Laterz!

You can use WMP 9 for playing multimedia files like music, videos etc
WMP 9 do supports avi format files
but for Quick time files to be played on WMP you have to download codecs for WMP 9.
