Stalked or hounded?
U simply get out of the situation. If someone comes to your house to hound u, u make plans to go elsewhere like a neighbor or out riding , get em off your back or tell em u are not interested or have somewhere to go .
Be nice about it at first unless it continues. If it gets nasty u can always get a peace bond that will keep the person away from u.
If the person is annoying, and wont listen to u. u tell em u are going down to the clerk of courts and get a peace bond, that should give the stalker a wake up call to stay away from u cause then they go to jail if they break the peace bond.

Yup, 2 previous "boyfriends" had a hard time letting go. In the long run, I had to learn that this person's "hurt feelings" didn't matter nearly as much as my personal safety and sense of security. When childish attempts were made to draw be back into their lives, I did not give. Not even just a little. 1 time picking up the phone to say "leave me alone" cancels out weeks of not picking up the phone. For a while, I had a friend intervening with the messier of the two loonies, so that this guy had NO contact with me--she was not speaking on my behalf, she was basically tearing his character to shreds. He then started harassing her. I eventually changed my phone number, gave all appearances of moving and gave him NOTHING to work with at all.

You have to build a TOUGH wall against this person and stand firm--do NOT ever back down, not even to ask him to stop (if reasonable attempts to do so in the past haven't worked), document EVERYTHING so that if your particular situation warrants it, you can go to the police.

I was stalked years ago when I was a teenager. It was very, very scary and back then there were no anti stalking laws on the books. When I called the police, I was told that they could only do something if he actually tried to hurt me. Not much comfort there.

What did I do? Well, I lived with it for two years. He harrassed me at work (almost causing me to lose my job). He mailed me photos of myself that he had obviously taken of me walking across parking lots and the like, and he'd sit in front of my house in his car at all hours. It was definitely scary.

I won't give you the long, drawn out and detailed story, but what I finally wound up doing-because the police wouldn't help-was finally a boyfriend actually went to his house and had it out with him. The coward wouldn't come outside. I guess the threat worked, though, because he never bothered me again.

A word of caution, though. Even though that worked for me, if you are having a problem with a stalker, please don't try it except as an absolute last resort. I was lucky that my stalker turned out to be a wimp. But that is no guarantee that others will be.

Be careful, and please take care of yourself.

stalkers are sick people. They have it in their head that you are their property. do not get friendly or give them anything as this will make them think that you want them. Tell the authorities carry a concealed weapon you do not want to be found by a man walking his dog 18 months later rotting away in some grassy field. Learn kick boxing/self defense, always be in public places if you think you are being followed, call someone a.s.a.p.
