That is a small contradiction. Anyways, I don't know about depressing, but my favorite bands always cheer me up. Jack's Mannequin and Muse. Andrew McMahon (Jack's Mannequin vocalist and pianist) puts a lot of emotion in his songs. Matthew Bellamy (Muse vocalist and guitarist) puts a lot of feeling in his songs.
