How much just it cost to change a master brake cylinder? I have a 2dr 1995 Honda Accord with about 90k miles. The pressure on the brake pedal varies substantially and it was determined that there is a leak in the brake master cylinder.

It probably will cost you around $300 to have a business install it for you. However, if you call your local parts store (Auto Zone, Advanced Parts) You will find that the master cylinder itself will be around $70 to $90 depending on ABS and the auto store you call. Whatever you do, don't get talked into the remanufactured master cylinder even though it will be at about half the cost. The reman master cylinder usually causes double the work considering they are junk and you don't realize that until you've installed it. Now if you know anyone mechanically inclined offer them $50 or something for them to install the master cylinder. You will save money by having a trusted friend or family member install it for you. Good Luck & God Bless!

Brake maaster cylinders at O'Reilly Auto Parts are $42-$72 according to what warranty you want. They are not hard to replace if the reservoir comes with them.
