If that tape is true why would you wanna watch someone die? Not something I'd wanna watch. Neither would it be the right thing to do.
That tape, if it does exist, should be left with his family and never shown to the public, but only to his family, when they feel they are ready.

Thank you for this Q.
I met Steve once,,,and being a Steven myself, and moderately interested at the time, in the same things, I found him to be quite Real, and showy a bit, but not at all Gruesome.
I suspect there will be video shown of the ray stabbing Steve through the lower rib cage and penetrating his heart,,, BUT WHY???
AOL already has "NEWS" that folllowers are slaughtering Sting Rays in a vengence thing.... What The Heck is that about???
Will the world gain anything? Will his family,,,who does have legal access, be comforted, or find solution in the accident that ended the mans life?
I will tell you this,,,no matter any detractors who answer... THIS will be sensationalized to the point of me wanting to vomit, and will very likely be "sponsored" by some well known product, for profit.
I for one, think I'll mourn his demise, respectfully, somewhat sadly, and NOT look on any graphic details, any more than I wanted to see the charred bodys of my family members, removed from the twin towers 5 years ago yesterday.
Peace all.
Rev. Steven

I think he could have said that he wanted a tape like that to be watched. Think about it, with how dangerous most of the stuff he did was, the chance of him dying must have come up, and the fact that a lot of those things were filmed. But apart from that I really don't think there is a good reason for the film to be shown. We know what happened, people have talked all around the subject, people can learn from his mistakes without having to watch him die in agony.

I thought I read somewhere on Yahoo news that the tape will never be shown. But they did go and finish the show they were taping.
I think ultimately his last wish would be whatever his family would want. If it is too painful for his family then he would not want it shown. He wanted people to learn from his death and they did.

Recent questions have surfaced which suggest the footage of Steve Irwin's death may be released for broadcast on television. However, the opposite has also been stated. Irwin's friend and manager John Stainton said to CNN's Larry King “[The tape] should be destroyed

I would not watch that tape, I want to remember him as the CROCODILE HUNTER and not of him dying. My believes are no one has the right to see that tape it is something very personal and only the family of Steve have the right to see and have that tape. But knowing the way some people are they are gonna get a hold of that video and start showing it in the Internet. I think that is so sad but unfortunately their are people like that.. Were did you hear that Steve wishes were to show that video? I don't quiet understand that, he himself didn't know he was going to pass away that day he went in the ocean. I think that's just the media talking their nonce's ounce again...

I think the decision as to whether it is shown should be made by his family, I am a bit bemused by the fuss this tape has generated.
The world saw hundreds of people falling from the WTC and these images were shown again and again.
Death is part of our lives, the reason people have this fascination with it is because it is always something to be hidden and scared of.

It should not be shown because once it is, it will be all over the internet. What happens when the guys children accidentally stumble across it in 10-15 years time (or once they are old enough rto use the internet). Who wants to see footage of their parent dying. There is already enough stuff on the internet about him. What about the pictures/footage of him holding the baby over the crocodile? Right or wrong that child is going to see that one day.

I am so sick and frickin tired of you people posting about Steve Irwin on here!!!
If it's not: "Oh boo hoo!!! This is the worst thing that has ever happen to me in my whole entire life..."
Or: "He deserved to die! Treating harmless, innocent creatures like that!"
Or: "When can we see the tape? Where can I find it on the internet? I HAVE to see it cause I am a morbid person who has no morals!"
If no one EVER sees it, then THAT is a GOOD thing.
His children should be able to grow up with out have to be asked, "Man! I have no idea how you do it! I mean, I saw your dad die, and the way that it happened, and his last struggled breaths for air, and the blood, an... God! How horrible for you! How do you deal with watching it?"
Because, if it DOES ever get released/leaked, it will for EVER be on the web, and on the news, and EVERYWHERE...
GET A LIFE, and leave HIS and HIS FAMILY alone!!!!!!!!

If it was his wish for it to be shown then yes it should be shown. It would be a great learning experience for people who think they can just go around messing with animals without being trained to. Also I would watch it.
