Not necessarily. If you pay into disability insurance through your work, then yes, you will get at least 60% of your pay through disability, which pays 6-8 weeks, depending on type of delivery (natural or c-section) You ARE entitled to FMLA leave. Here at my company I can take an extra 12 weeks UNPAID off or they will give me the hour equivelent of 12 weeks, which would be 480 hours. I can stretch that 480 hours out over 1 year and work part time if I want, but it's all unpaid.
Only way to get paid while on maternity leave is to work for a wonderful company (which the US lacks awesome companies) or pay into disability insurance. (short term/long term). Some companies DO NOT offer disability insurance though. you can probably pay into disability outside of your company through your insurance.

This depends on several factors, including where you live, the company you work for and the type of insurance you have. Typically, the company doesn't pay your maternity leave. After all, you are no longer providing your services and they would have to hire someone to replace you. From a company standpoint, you are only gauranteed your job when you return. In Canada, you are paid a certain percentage of your wage by the government for a certain period of time. I assume the US would be somewhat similar but would probably depend more on the type of health insurance you have and the coverage under that insurance.

Majority of the companies DO NOT pay for maternity leave, unless you use your sick leave, vacation time. They just give you the time off. Of course if you have short term disability insurance, then the insurance company will pay you.

Do you have short term disablility insurance. It all depends but most companies aren't just going to pay you. By law they dont have to as long as you qualify for FMLA ( Family Medical Leave Act) all the lagally have to do is hold your position for 90 days while you are gone.

depends. if you have short term disability or something like that, then that will be used. FMLA (family medical leave act) only guarantees that an employer has to allow you 12 weeks a year without pay for any kind of family medical leave.

Totally depends on your company. Check with your human resources department. It could be for a limited amount of time, or only partial pay too, like 60%.
