"Waterfall" is a song that musically harkens back to the lighter side of 60's pop, being reminiscent perhaps of The Byrds. According to Ian Brown it is "...a song about a girl who sees all the bullshit, drops a trip and goes to Dover. She's tripping, she's about to get on this boat and she feels free." Brown has occasionally picked issue with John Leckie's production on this song, saying that the bass and drums on the song were mixed too low.

Waterfall is excellent, what a song

Stone Roses with Ian Brown are comparable to the Doors and Jim Morisson

Chimes sing sunday morn
Todays the day shes sworn
To steal what she never could own
And race from this hole she calls home

Now youre at the wheel
Tell me how, how does it feel?
So good to have equalised
To lift up the lids of your eyes

As the mile they disappear
See land begin to clear
Free from the filth and the scum
This american satelites won

Shell carry on through it all
Shes a waterfall

Shell carry on through it all
Shes a waterfall

See the steeple pine
The hills as old as time
Soon to be put to the test
To be whipped by the winds of the west

Stands on shifting sands
The scales held in her hands
The wind it just whips her away
And fills up her brigantine sails

Shell carry on through it all
Shes a waterfall
Shell carry on through it all

Shes a waterfall

Check out www.songmeanings.net. They've got TONS of lyrics, plus a discussion board about the meanings of each song. It's pretty cool to hear what other people think songs are all about.

Wow what a tune,"free from the filth and the scum this american sattalite's won", absolute nonsense but amazing, "she'll carry on through it all, she's a waterfall...."

I loved that band? Are they still around? My two favorite songs by them were " I wanna be adored" and " Fools Gold".
